Do You Have Gynecomastia? Consider BodyTite and Liposuction for a More Masculine Chest

There’s no shame in having gynecomastia, as many men experience it at some point in their lives. Explore our best options for treatment if you prefer a more masculine chest.

Lots of men experience gynecomastia at some point in life: 50-60% to be precise. The growth of male breast tissue can be hormonal or come from various other causes including heavy alcohol consumption, steroids, or chemotherapy drugs. No matter where it comes from, gynecomastia isn’t always quick to go away on its own. That’s why many men turn to medical interventions to remove the extra tissue and obtain a more masculine chest.

Women’s Health Institute in Macon and Warner Robins, Georgia, doesn’t only service women with advanced plastic surgeries and procedures. Men with gynecomastia can trust our experts to cosmetically treat their condition by minimizing the volume in their chest areas. Cosmetic surgeon Nnaemeka Umerah, MD, and board-certified family physician Anayo Umerah, MD, can evaluate your condition and guide you through your best options for gynecomastia treatment.

Sometimes gynecomastia improves on its own, but in the meantime, you might feel uncertainty or self-consciousness about your enlarged breast tissue. At Women’s Health Institute, we offer two advanced treatment options to masculinize one or both of your breasts based on your needs.

Understanding BodyTite, a minimally invasive option

Women’s Health Institute offers BodyTite by InMode™, a radiofrequency-assisted liposuction technology that removes extra fat tissue while also tightening the surrounding skin. As a minimally invasive procedure, BodyTite leaves behind minimal scarring, shortens your recovery time, and promises little to no discomfort.

After administering local anesthesia, your provider makes a small incision in your breast. The BodyTite device applicator emits radiofrequency, which is a gentle type of energy widely used for medical purposes. The energy waves loosen and liquefy the fatty tissue in your breast so it’s easier to remove with vacuum suction.

Radiofrequency also heats the collagen in your skin, causing it to constrict and tighten. That means BodyTite won’t leave you with sagging skin on your chest that looks out of place. By the end of treatment, your pectoral muscles are well-defined and your chest is flat.

Power-assisted liposuction

Another option for gynecomastia treatment is power-assisted liposuction (PAL®) by MicroAire®. PAL is a surgical fat removal procedure that uses an oscillating cannula (tube) to loosen the fatty tissue in your breast or any other targeted area. The device then suctions the loosened fat from the region.

While this option is equally effective for removing enlarged breast tissue, it doesn’t have the tightening radiofrequency element offered by BodyTite. It’s still an excellent option for gynecomastia treatment and can be combined with skin tightening services if you’re interested in them.

PAL works well on small and large areas and is an excellent option if you’re interested in fat transfer, which removes fat from one area of your body and places it in another to accentuate your buttocks or other areas that could use a little more volume.
